Privacy at a glance
FORESTDEPTHS is a creative-writing website published by Horace at ForestDepths.com. In the current version, the writing tools run in your browser. There are no user accounts, payment forms, public comments, remote text-generation services, advertising tags, analytics scripts, or embedded third-party media. Saving a brief is optional and stores it on your device. Visiting a page still requires network requests to the service delivering the website.
This policy distinguishes the features currently present from advertising that may be introduced later. The Google advertising and consent sections below explain that conditional use; they do not state that Google AdSense is already serving ads or that any advertising platform has approved this website.
1. Publisher and privacy contact
Horace is the publisher and privacy contact for FORESTDEPTHS. Please send privacy questions, concerns, and requests to horace7885aty@gmail.com. Include enough information to identify the issue, such as a page URL, the type of record involved, and the action you are requesting. Do not send passwords, identity documents, financial details, or somebody else’s private writing unless specifically needed and requested through an appropriate process.
Publisher contact address: Room 903, 9th Floor, Zhongtie Xi'an Center, Yanta District, Xi'an, Shaanxi, China. You may use this address or the email above to contact the publisher about the handling of information described here. No company registration, appointed data protection officer, or external privacy certification is asserted.
2. Information involved in visiting the website
When your browser requests a page or asset, the hosting or network-delivery service receives information needed to deliver that request. Depending on the provider and its configuration, this may include an IP address, requested URL, time of request, browser or device information, referrer information sent by your browser, and technical or security events. Such information may be processed for delivery, reliability, abuse prevention, and security.
The application does not contain a visitor analytics service or a cross-site tracking pixel. It does not build a user account profile from your visits. The production hosting provider has not been selected as part of this local release, so this policy does not invent a provider name, server location, log-retention period, or processing agreement. The deployment owner must update these operational details to match the actual host before publication.
3. Creative input and local generation
Tool settings can include a topic choice, naming controls, genre, tone, narrative scale, a seed, a motif, and optional draft context. The supplied tool engine combines these settings with local rules and fictional writing material in your browser. It does not submit the text to a FORESTDEPTHS generation API, an external AI model, or an account-based storage service.
Generating a result does not automatically send it to the publisher or publish it for other visitors. The current application does not use your entered drafts to train a model. This statement describes the application supplied with this version; browser extensions, translation services, operating-system features, or services you choose to use separately have their own data practices.
Please avoid entering sensitive personal information. Fictional writing tools do not need a real person’s medical details, government identifier, financial account, private address, or confidential correspondence to operate.
4. Saved briefs, working notes, and browser storage
If you choose “Save to notebook,” the brief and its settings are written to localStorage in the browser you are using. Working notes you add to a saved brief are stored there too. The application uses the key forestdepths.notebook.v1 for this feature. This is device storage, not a cookie sent with every website request and not an online account backup.
Saved entries remain until you remove an entry, clear the notebook, clear the browser’s site data, or the browser removes the storage. Another person using the same browser profile may be able to read them. Private browsing, device changes, storage limits, browser restrictions, or clearing site data can make the records unavailable. The application displays feedback when it cannot read or write the notebook.
You control these records through the notebook page and your browser’s site-data controls. FORESTDEPTHS does not have a server copy of local-only briefs to recover, synchronize, or remotely erase. Export any work you want to keep before deleting it. Deleting a local entry does not delete files or copies you previously shared.
5. Settings links, clipboard actions, and downloaded files
A settings link encodes tool settings in the URL fragment after the # character. Optional draft context is included if you entered it. The interface discloses this and asks for confirmation before sharing a link containing context. Anyone who receives the complete link can read those settings and recreate the brief in the current engine.
A URL fragment is not included in the normal HTTP request for the page. It can still remain in browser history, copied messages, screenshots, bookmarks, or other systems where you place the full link. A browser extension or separate service may have access under its own permissions. Do not treat a fragment as encryption or a private access control.
Copy buttons ask your browser to place selected text on the clipboard. CSV, Markdown, and JSON exports create files on your device through the browser’s download function. The website does not upload those files. You decide where they are saved, whether they enter a synchronized folder, and with whom they are shared.
6. Email, feedback, and content concerns
Contact links open your own email application. Nothing is sent merely because you visit a contact page. If you send an email to horace7885aty@gmail.com, the publisher and the email services involved receive the sender information, message, and attachments you choose to provide. The publisher uses that correspondence to respond, investigate a reported problem, handle a privacy or rights request, and maintain a relevant record.
Correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably needed for those purposes, resolving a dispute, or meeting an applicable obligation. This policy does not claim a fixed deletion schedule for the email provider or a hosting log whose settings have not been established. Requests concerning correspondence can be sent to the privacy contact.
7. Cookies and similar technologies in the current version
The current first-party application does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Its optional notebook uses browser localStorage as described above. Core page content, illustrations, fonts, code, and tool-profile files are served as site assets; the supplied pages do not embed a social-media widget, video player, third-party font service, or advertising iframe.
The current version does not include a Google-certified consent management platform because Google advertising has not been integrated. There is no claim that a local storage setting or a generic cookie notice supplies a valid advertising-consent signal. If the deployed host adds a security cookie, analytics feature, or another service, its actual purpose, provider, duration, and controls must be reflected in this policy before that feature is enabled.
8. Google AdSense and advertising — only if enabled
FORESTDEPTHS may introduce Google AdSense to support this website. Google advertising is not enabled in the current version. If it is activated, Google and other advertising providers may collect or receive information through ad requests and related technologies. These may include cookies, local identifiers, web beacons, IP addresses, browser or device information, page context, and ad interaction information. The exact processing depends on the ads actually served, provider configuration, consent signals, and applicable requirements.
When Google advertising is used, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on a person’s previous visits to this website or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies may allow Google and its partners to personalize advertising using visits across sites. Other enabled ad vendors or networks may also place or read cookies, or use web beacons and IP addresses, in connection with ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and personalization where permitted.
Google explains its practices in Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can review Google advertising choices in Google My Ad Center. For participating third-party advertising companies, Digital Advertising Alliance choices may offer additional opt-out controls. These choices operate according to the relevant provider and browser settings; they do not necessarily remove every advertisement or prevent processing needed for permitted ad delivery or security.
Before advertising is activated, the deployed website must identify the advertising providers it actually uses, link to their relevant information, update this policy to reflect the live configuration, and implement the consent and privacy choices required for the audience served. No additional vendor is presented here as already active merely because it could be available through an advertising platform.
9. Advertising consent and regional privacy choices
If Google products are introduced for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the integration must make the disclosures and obtain the consent required by Google’s EU User Consent Policy. That includes consent for cookies or other local storage where legally required, and for collecting, sharing, and using personal data for personalized advertising. Parties receiving or using the information must be identified, and withdrawing consent must be explained.
Google requires a Google-certified CMP integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework for personalized advertising in those regions, subject to its current publisher CMP requirements. A provider’s certification does not by itself certify the website’s compliance with all applicable privacy laws. Non-personalized ads should not be assumed to eliminate every use of cookies or every consent requirement.
If advertising is enabled, the deployed consent interface must provide the choices appropriate to the actual processing and applicable region, respect a refusal or withdrawal for consent-dependent activities, and support access to the relevant provider information. The publisher must keep the required consent records and configure the integration to act on valid signals. This document is not a substitute for implementing those controls.
The current version has no behavioral advertising integration, sale/share opt-out mechanism connected to an ad service, or custom processing of browser Global Privacy Control signals. It does not claim to process a signal it has not implemented. If a future service triggers region-specific opt-out or signal obligations, those controls must be implemented and described before that processing begins.
10. Purposes and applicable grounds for processing
Website-request information supports page delivery and technical security. Local notebook data supports the saving function you actively choose. Correspondence supports answering and handling the request you send. The current tool application does not use drafts for unrelated advertising profiling, audience enrichment, or automated eligibility decisions.
Where a data protection framework requires a legal basis, the appropriate basis depends on the actual activity and jurisdiction. Necessary delivery and security processing may rely on legitimate interests where applicable and subject to the required assessment; communications may be needed to handle a request; some retention may follow a legal obligation. Consent-dependent advertising or optional tracking must rely on the consent or other lawful mechanism actually required for that processing. No claim is made that visiting this page creates consent to every possible future use.
11. Recipients, service providers, and external links
For the present version, the relevant external services are the host or network-delivery provider that serves a requested page and the email providers involved if you choose to contact the publisher. Tool drafts are not transmitted to those services as generation input by the application. A host still receives the page and asset requests needed to deliver the site.
Following an external link takes you to another provider under its own terms and privacy practices. Ordinary links to Google policy or advertising-choice pages do not embed an ad tag on FORESTDEPTHS. If additional services are introduced, their actual roles and processing must be disclosed rather than inferred from the presence of a policy link.
Information may also need to be disclosed where necessary to comply with a binding legal process, protect rights, investigate misuse, or maintain security, subject to applicable requirements. The publisher cannot disclose a server-side copy of a draft that the application never collected.
12. Retention, security, and international processing
Local notebook retention is controlled by you and your browser as described in section 4. Exported copies are controlled by the places where you save or share them. Correspondence is kept according to its continuing purpose and applicable obligations. Hosting-log practices must be confirmed against the actual production service; they are not assigned an invented duration in this policy.
The application minimizes collection by generating locally and avoiding accounts or remote draft storage. These design choices reduce some exposure but do not make a shared device, clipboard, export, or link immune from access. The live deployment should use HTTPS. No claim is made that localStorage is encrypted by this application or that any system is perfectly secure.
A hosting or email provider may process information in countries other than yours. Actual processing locations and any transfer arrangements depend on the provider and account configuration. This policy does not assert a particular server region, contract, or transfer safeguard that has not been established.
13. Your requests and controls
Depending on the rules applicable to you and the information the publisher actually processes, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, or withdrawal of consent. Send a request to horace7885aty@gmail.com. Explain the record and requested action. The publisher may need proportionate information to verify and handle the request, and will respond in accordance with applicable requirements rather than an invented universal deadline.
For local-only notebook information, use the notebook controls, export, and your browser’s site-data settings. For a link or file already sent elsewhere, contact the recipient or service holding that copy. For Google advertising preferences, if relevant, use the Google controls linked above and the deployed website’s applicable consent interface.
A deletion request may be limited by information the publisher does not possess or by obligations to preserve a relevant record. Where applicable, you may also raise a concern with your competent data protection or privacy authority. No single jurisdiction or statutory right is represented as applying identically to every visitor.
14. Children and sensitive information
FORESTDEPTHS is a general creative-writing resource, not a service designed to collect information from children. It has no registration or age-profile system and does not ask visitors to submit a child’s name, school, precise location, or other personal record. Please do not put such details into draft context, saved notes, shared links, or feedback.
If you believe the publisher received a child’s personal information through correspondence or another communication, contact horace7885aty@gmail.com with enough context to locate it. The publisher will handle the concern in accordance with applicable requirements. A future advertising integration must not use children’s information or sensitive personal information for prohibited personalized targeting. This statement does not claim that a local writing tool can verify the age of every visitor.
15. Changes to this policy
This policy was updated on October 31, 2026. The date at the top identifies the current statement. Changes to hosting, advertising, analytics, storage, or contact processing should be reflected before the associated feature begins operating. A notice or revised consent request should be provided where the nature of a change and applicable requirements call for it.
Questions about this statement can be directed to Horace at horace7885aty@gmail.com. The website’s editorial standards explain authorship and fictional material; its terms explain use of creative suggestions. This policy describes information handling and does not promise search ranking, regulatory certification, or approval by an advertising platform.
